Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 07/27/2026
Last Updated: 07/27/2026

Who operates Pickleheart. Pickleheart is an initiative of Strivers United Inc., powered by orangeKarma Inc.

  • orangeKarma Inc. (“orangeKarma”) publishes, licenses, operates, and maintains the Pickleheart app, platform technology, and infrastructure, and owns the Pickleheart software, platform intellectual property, and the PICKLEHEART marks.
  • Strivers United Inc., a nonprofit corporation doing business as Pickleheart (“Strivers United”), operates the member community, membership, events, and community standards.
  • In this Privacy Policy, “Pickleheart” means the app and services; “we,” “us,” and “our” mean orangeKarma and Strivers United together, each acting only with respect to its own role — orangeKarma as to the software and platform, Strivers United as to the community and membership. For data-protection purposes, orangeKarma is the operator that publishes the app and is responsible for its data practices, and it shares member information with Strivers United to provide community and membership services. The two organizations share member information with each other only as necessary to operate Pickleheart, under a written agreement between them, and neither sells your personal information.
  1. Scope. This Privacy Policy applies to the Pickleheart mobile application published by orangeKarma Inc., the Pickleheart website(s), community, events, messaging, and commerce features, and communications with us. It does not apply to third-party sites or services linked from the Services.
  2. Information You Provide. (a) Account & profile — name or display name, phone number and/or email, profile photo, skill level, preferred parks/courts, community affiliations. (b) Community content — profile content, and, where those features are available, posts, comments, and photos. (c) Communications — support messages and survey responses. (d) Messaging — if and when messaging features are available, the messages and attachments you send, and any reports about them.
  3. Information We Collect Automatically. (a) Device & usage data — device type, OS, app version, IP address, approximate location (city/state), logs, feature usage. (b) Push notification tokens, if you enable notifications. (c) Crash & diagnostics data via Sentry. (d) Cookies and similar technologies on the web.
  4. Location & “At the Park” Presence (Opt-In). Presence and automatic check-in are disabled by default and entirely opt-in. If you grant “Always” location permission, Pickleheart uses background geofencing to detect arrival at and departure from parks you have selected, reading location only at those moments — event-based, not continuous tracking. With “While Using the App,” auto check-in is unavailable and you check in manually. You control who can see your presence through your visibility settings, and you can limit how a specific person sees you by blocking them (see §7). You can enable or disable these features in the app and revoke location permission in device settings at any time. We do not continuously log your location, do not publish public location heatmaps, and never use location for advertising.
  5. How We Use Information. To operate and maintain the Services; enable community, events, and (where available) messaging; provide opt-in presence and check-in; deliver notifications you enable; personalize your experience; process and fulfill orders; send service and permitted marketing communications; detect fraud, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms and community standards; diagnose problems; and comply with law.
  6. How We Share Information. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • (a) Between orangeKarma and Strivers United. Because Pickleheart is operated jointly — orangeKarma runs the software and infrastructure, Strivers United runs the community and membership — the two organizations share member information with each other only as necessary to provide the Services. This sharing is governed by a written agreement, is limited to operating Pickleheart, and is not a sale.
  • (b) Within the community. Depending on your settings, profile details, posts, and presence status may be visible to other members of your park or community, event participants, and (where available) message recipients — subject to the blocks and controls in §7.
  • (c) Service providers that process data solely on our behalf under contract: Auth0 (authentication and login), Twilio (SMS, including phone verification), Stream (chat and messaging infrastructure, where messaging is available), Brevo (email and marketing), Sentry (crash reporting), Stripe (payment processing), and WooCommerce (commerce and order management).
  • (d) Legal & safety — as needed to comply with law, protect safety or rights, or enforce our Terms.
  1. Messaging, Moderation & Safety. Profiles, and where available posts and messages, are user-generated content. You can report content or a user, and block a user, from within the app. Blocking is enforced on our servers and does two things: it removes that person as a friend, and it anonymizes you to them. A user you block can no longer see your name, handle, or photo, cannot open your profile, contact you, or find you in search or friend-finder — and this holds even if your profile is public to everyone else. Blocking hides your identity from that person, not your presence: a blocked user may still see that an anonymous player is present at a park, and you remain part of the park’s total count, but they cannot tell it is you. Blocking is silent — the blocked person is not notified — applies to your past activity, and can be managed or reversed at any time in Settings. We maintain no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may use automated tools and human review to detect abuse, investigate reports, and enforce community standards, and we act on reports promptly. Where messaging is available, messages are private between participants and may be reviewed when reported or required for safety or compliance.
  2. Payments & Commerce. Commerce is offered on the web; the app may link to it. Where you purchase directly, payments are processed by Stripe and orders managed through WooCommerce; we do not store full card numbers. Third-party sellers’ and processors’ own terms may also apply.
  3. Your Choices & Controls. You may update your profile; control presence, check-in, and visibility settings; manage blocked users; disable location permissions; opt out of marketing; and request access, correction, or deletion. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your Pickleheart profile and content; if you use other Pickleheart or orangeKarma services, some data may be retained to provide those services, and if the Pickleheart app is your only such service your account and associated data are deleted, subject to the limited retention in §10.
  4. Data Retention. We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Periods vary by data type and purpose.
  5. Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No system is completely secure.
  6. U.S. Privacy Rights. Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, and delete your information and to opt out of certain uses. Because we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or “sharing” to opt out of; all other rights are available by contacting us below.
  7. Children’s Privacy. Pickleheart requires users to be at least 13 (or older where required by law), consistent with the Terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. [JUSTIN: confirm 13+ floor and advise on handling of 13–17 minors; must stay identical to ToS §1.4.]
  8. International Users. Your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions.
  9. Changes. We may update this policy; the Effective Date reflects the current version, and we communicate material changes as required.
