About the Park

Whether you’re a seasoned local or a visitor looking for a game in the world’s most famous park, you’ll find our courts filled with the rhythmic pop of the ball and the laughter of 20 to 30 friends gathered under the trees. The courts are managed by the Upper Westside Pickleball Community.  This community brings people together through pickleball. Creating a place where players of all levels can have fun, connect, and enjoy the game in the heart of the park.

There are currently 3 courts, with two more being constructed. Nets are setup and put away throughout the day by volunteers. When setup, the volunteers provide balls for playing, and shade for resting from the sun. There are often 20-30 people lined up waiting to play. The community follows a standard system of putting paddles in stacks of 4, playing a single game to 11, and then returning to the back of the stack line.

Park Rules

  1. Place your paddle on the stack shelf to enter the queue. The stack closest to the top is up next.
  2. Games are played to 11, win by 1.
  3. After your game, exit the court and reenter the stack to play again.
  4. Use the walkways behind the courts when entering or exiting. Do not walk across the courts unless necessary.
  5. Nets are put up by volunteers. If the last volunteer present needs to leave, they are expected to lock up the nets until another volunteer comes and can unpack them.
  6. A new system is being developed where people can choose to SKIP one of the new courts, if they prefer to wait for one of the primary 3 courts.

What is Pickleheart?

Pickleheart is a non-profit membership collective designed to support the oft-overlooked people at the grassroots level of pickleball: the community leaders and players at the public playgrounds. We are enabling local communities to have their own web portal, stores, and a mobile app to enhance connectivity.
We are launching in early 2026 in NYC. Hopefully coming to your community later this year.
Join our wait list now to be the first to know when we launch.
